SHARE Housing for Older Adults
What is SHARE? SHARE stands for Shared Housing and Resource Exchange, a new program for Venango County to match potential Home Seekers with Home Hosts. The program is a non-medical model attempting to bridge the gap in the housing issues for Venango County and to assist someone with “aging in place” while they remain in their home as long as possible. Who can take part in SHARE? Anyone over the age of 18 can apply. When a match is made, one of the two participants does have to be over 60 years of age. The Host Home has to provide a private bedroom for both participants and a decision will be made on the arrangements of the shared living space in the rest of the home.
