The Pointe
Drop-In Centers were created to provide a place for consumers of mental health systems to provide peer support and socialization with other who have similar lived experiences. They are nonjudgmental in nature and give consumers a place to feel safe, secure and “at home.” The main goal of Drop-In Centers is to provide a feeling of belonging and self-worth.
Every Center is different and its own personality and membership makeup. Some offer a more structured environment than others. Quite often as a center grows, it goes through stages and changes in its program structure and what it offers but always focused on membership needs. The Pointe is managed and operated by the consumer.
Drop-in centers give consumers the opportunity to develop through options that support personal growth. We encourage good socialization skills, support, sharing, and the freedom to participate without stigma and discrimination. The Pointe helps keep mental health consumers stabilized in recovery.
